  • Project Name: NEO-LITE ZERO — Commercial Spec Campaign
  • Product: Premium wireless headphones featuring Ultra Noise-Canceling technology and an exceptionally lightweight design.
  • The Challenge: Launch the new “NEO-LITE ZERO” headphones, positioned around extreme noise cancellation and an ultra-lightweight feel—so light, it feels like you’re not wearing anything at all.
  • Target Audience: Modern urban professionals, freelancers, and creative professionals seeking “focused silence” amidst the noise and distractions of a busy city.

Step 2: Big Idea & Visual Contrast

  • Concept: Transition from the chaos of the outside world into a personal space of calm and focus.
  • Visual Strategy: Create a visual contrast between two distinct dimensions:
    • World 1 — Urban Chaos: Warm Amber tones representing Visual Noise—the lights, movement, and distractions of a busy city.
    • World 2 — Open Sky: Soft Cyan tones representing Absolute Quietness—a sense of space, calm, and complete focus.

Step 3: Moodboard & Style Frames

  • Photo 1: A busy urban environment in Warm Amber tones, representing visual noise and external distractions.
  • Photo 2: An expansive sky in Soft Cyan tones, representing calm, openness, and absolute quietness.
  • Product Image: Hero shot of the NEO-ZERO LITE headphones.
  • Typography
    • Main Headline — Helvetica: Creates a bold, stable, and universally recognizable visual presence.
    • Information & Paragraph — Quicksand: Conveys softness, lightness, and relaxation, naturally reflecting the comfort and lightweight feel of the headphones.
    • Mood & Supporting Text — Pinyon Script: Adds a personal and emotional dimension, expressing a sense of calm and intimacy. Its fluid character creates a deliberate contrast with the structured Helvetica, maintaining the same visual tension established by the main imagery.

Step 4: Production & Execution

  • Master Key Visual Composite
  • Motion & Sound Design

Step 5: Key Takeaways & Impact

  • Cross-Media Consistency: Every touchpoint is connected through the same visual DNA: “Visual Contrast — Warm Amber vs. Soft Cyan.” This creates a consistent emotional journey from chaos to calm across still imagery, video, and web experiences.
  • Vision-Driven Production: Establishing a strong visual concept from the outset provides a clear creative direction across disciplines, keeping the production aligned while maintaining a consistent level of quality and execution.
  • Strategic Brand Storytelling: Translate the product’s core attributes—Quiet, Premium, and Light—through the visual metaphor of an open, expansive sky. The contrast with a chaotic urban environment amplifies the product’s promise and creates a more distinctive brand story.

  • Controlled Creative Expression: Introduce Neon Purple and organic forms to inject creativity and energy while preserving the brand’s prestigious and credible character.
  • Flexible System: Establish consistency at the level of brand character, while allowing freedom in composition to adapt the identity across different formats and media.

Removing Metallic Texture

Metallic Exploration: Metallic treatments were explored during the initial design phase but proved to introduce more production limitations than practical value. As a result, they were removed from the core visual language, while Silver was retained as a color for highlights and premium accents.

Real Client Projects (2007–2015)

Brand Identity Typography Visual System Design

Step 1: Overview & Role

While working full-time at Isuzu Nakornluang and Toyota Nonthaburi, I took on additional design projects for three small-business clients: Vision UK Education Centre (education consultancy), Janice Nails Plus (nail salon), and O Zone Thai Restaurant (Thai restaurant overseas).

For each project, clients provided only basic information and supporting imagery, without a predefined visual direction. I was responsible for interpreting each brand’s identity from the available elements—such as logos and corporate colors—and translating them into a cohesive visual direction with consistent execution across multiple print media formats.

Role: Sole Designer — Brand Interpretation, Print Design, Visual Consistency

Step 2: Brief & Constraints

All three projects shared a common challenge: “Working within existing constraints rather than starting from a blank canvas.” This reflects a common real-world design environment, where creative direction must evolve from what already exists.

  • Vision UK: The existing red-and-white color palette and Big Ben logo had to be extended across five formats—business cards, two brochure variations, banners, and X-stands—while maintaining a unified visual identity.
  • Janice Nails Plus: Developed business cards in two color variations to accommodate different preferences within the female customer base, along with supporting poster designs.
  • O Zone Thai Restaurant: Transformed the existing orange-and-white logo and signature Maple Leaf motif into a cohesive print system that communicates the positioning of a premium Thai restaurant in an international market.

Step 3: Design Decisions

Each project involved intentional design decisions supported by clear rationale, while working within the constraints of an existing brand identity.

Vision UK

  • Visual Rhythm: Alternated between location imagery and student photography across each design piece to create a dynamic viewing rhythm and avoid visual monotony. Location imagery was given greater emphasis where spatial information needed to be communicated more clearly.
  • Audience-Driven Typography: Used a modern sans-serif typeface with slightly heavier weights for headlines to create a contemporary and engaging feel for a student audience. This was paired with a readable serif typeface for key details such as pricing and class schedules.
  • Visual Balance: Controlled the proportion of red and white to ensure that red remained prominent enough to strengthen brand recognition, while maintaining a clean and comfortable reading experience.

Janice Nails Plus

  • Color Psychology: Developed two pastel color variations to give the client flexibility in choosing the desired emotional tone. Pink conveys sweetness and playfulness, while green adds a refreshing dimension to the same soft and feminine character—allowing the brand to appeal to women with different styles and preferences.
  • Selective Focus Technique: Identified the nail designs as the key selling point within the original imagery. To direct attention toward this focal point, surrounding elements were desaturated into black and white, while retaining the original nail colors. This creates an immediate visual focus on the product while using the negative space created by the image crop to present additional nail design details.

O Zone Thai Restaurant

  • Cultural Context Reading: Chose a dark gradient background based on the visual conventions commonly associated with premium restaurants in international markets, where darker and more subdued tones are often used to convey a sense of sophistication and exclusivity.
  • Brand-Driven Balance: Introduced the orange-red tones from the existing logo into the background to prevent the overall composition from feeling overly heavy or confined, while reinforcing the brand’s existing visual identity.

Step 4: Applied Across Formats

Across all three projects, the work demonstrates the ability to maintain a cohesive visual direction across multiple media formats, while adapting the system to the specific needs of each brand.

  • Vision UK: Business cards, 2-page brochures, two poster variations, advertising banners, and X-stands — 5 formats in total.
  • Janice Nails Plus: Business cards in two color variations and two poster designs.
  • O Zone Thai Restaurant: Business cards and three menu sign variations.

Step 5: Key Takeaways

  • Brand Consistency Execution: Demonstrated the ability to work within an existing brand framework—including colors and logos—and extend it consistently across multiple media formats. This reflects a core Art Direction skill often required in real-world projects, where the challenge is to evolve an existing identity rather than start from scratch.
  • Context-Driven Decision Making: Every decision around color, typography, and visual composition was informed by the target audience and cultural context, rather than personal preference.
  • Real Client Accountability: Unlike a spec campaign, these projects were approved by real clients and implemented in actual use, demonstrating the ability to take creative decisions through to practical execution.

Case Study4: Design Within Regulation

Pharmaceutical Packaging — Grand Pharma (2025–Present)

Information Hierarchy Typography Visual System Design

Role: Sole Designer — Packaging Design, Regulatory Layout, Brand System

Step 1: Overview & Role

This is a current project at Grand Pharma, a pharmaceutical manufacturer and distributor of modern medicines. The brief involved designing the labels and packaging boxes for two syrup formulations:

  • BROMDA SYRUP — for allergy symptoms and nasal congestion
  • DEXTRESAN SYRUP — for cough relief

The key challenge was to develop a visual identity that strictly complies with Thai FDA (อย.) requirements, while maintaining a distinctive visual character that is clear, engaging, and easy to read.

This project demonstrates the ability to balance regulatory requirements, information hierarchy, brand consistency, and visual appeal within a highly constrained packaging environment.

Step 2: Brief & Constraints

Unlike the three previous case studies, where the constraints were primarily defined by existing client brand identities, this project involved far more rigid constraints driven by regulatory requirements rather than personal preference.

  • Mandatory Regulatory Information: All required information had to be included in accordance with Thai FDA (อย.) standards, including active ingredients, indications, dosage instructions, warnings—up to 11 required statements—manufacturer/distributor information, and the drug registration number.
  • Fixed Label Area: The available label space was strictly limited by the bottle dimensions and could not be expanded, requiring careful information hierarchy and space management.
  • Multi-Format Packaging: The design needed to work consistently across both the bottle label and the paper packaging box, which use different physical dimensions and dieline structures.

Step 3: Design Decisions

  • Flavor-Linked Color Coding: Developed a color system linked to each product’s flavor and perceived symptom experience, rather than assigning colors arbitrarily.

    • BROMDA SYRUP — Allergy & Nasal Congestion: Uses orange-yellow tones, combined with banana and splashing orange juice imagery, to communicate freshness and a familiar, approachable flavor profile.

    • DEXTRESAN SYRUP — Cough Relief: Uses a deep purple palette with grape imagery to communicate the grape flavor and create a softer, more soothing visual character suited to a cough-relief product.

This system allows consumers to differentiate the two products through color at a glance, reducing the need to read the product information before recognizing which formulation they are looking at.

  • Three-Zone Information Hierarchy: Established a consistent three-zone structure that can be applied across the entire product line:
    • Left Zone: Detailed Thai-language pharmaceutical information and instructions.
    • Center Zone: Brand name and key visual imagery that communicates the product’s character.
    • Right Zone: Technical information in English and manufacturer details.

This structure allows users to locate the information they need quickly, whether it is a pharmacist checking dosage information or a consumer simply identifying the product.

  • Typography Under Regulatory Pressure: When mandatory information became extensive—including up to 11 warning statements for certain formulations—the solution was not simply to remove information, but to optimize typography and layout. Smaller type was carefully structured within a clear hierarchy, while orange and deep purple section headings created visual pauses and improved scanability. Even with dense and relatively small text, users can quickly locate key information without encountering an overwhelming block of copy.
  • Label-to-Box Consistency: Extended the established visual system from the bottle label to the paper packaging box (dieline), despite the more complex multi-panel structure. The same three-zone hierarchy and color system were maintained across both formats, allowing consumers to recognize the product consistently whether viewing the box on the shelf or the bottle after opening.

Step 4: Applied Across Formats

  • BROMDA SYRUP & DEXTRESAN SYRUP (60 ml) Bottle Labels
  • Dieline Packaging Boxes with required pricing information and barcodes
  • A scalable color and layout system designed to support additional formulations and new products in the future.

Step 5: Key Takeaways

  • Regulated Design Thinking: Demonstrated the ability to design within non-negotiable regulatory requirements without compromising visual quality, clarity, or readability.
  • Systematic Color Coding: Used color as a functional communication tool, rather than purely as a visual treatment, enabling consumers to differentiate products at a glance.
  • Cross-Format Scalability: Developed a flexible visual system that can extend across different formats—from bottle labels to packaging boxes—and accommodate new formulations in the future without requiring the entire design system to be rebuilt.
